Picaxe Introduction
Picaxe microcontrollers are popular and very easy to use. Instructions written in Basic are typed into the Program Editor and then downloaded via a cable into the chip. Input pins may take information from sensors etc, be interpreted and then output a response to a transducer. These ICs are fun to use. The help files and applications are extensive

Picaxe USB cable -
AXE027 Picaxe USB cable - AXE027
This PICAXE USB download cable connects between a stereo socket attached to the picaxe and a computers USB port. A very convenient download cable as its is compatible with any software application that supports programming of PICAXE chips. The cable contains a tiny circuit board, moulded into the USB connector. This circuit contains a USB to serial convertor chip, and so the actual data transfer to the PICAXE chip is via a 5V logic level serial connection.
